FAQ's

Please search below to find answers to commonly asked questions about the application and recruitment process with Repco Australia and New Zealand.

Will I receive a response to my job application?

Yes.  You will receive an acknowledgement email that confirms receipt of your application within 24 hours.  This will be sent to the email address that is listed in your profile/application.    If you do not receive an email within 24 hours, please check the email address you supplied on your application as it may not be accurate.  If you have not used a valid email address, we won’t be able to contact you and update you on the status of your application.

Can I register my details for future job opportunities if I cannot find a suitable job vacancy today?

Yes.  We welcome expressions of interest from candidates with experience and skills relevant to our business.  If you register your interest, we will maintain your details in our database, to be matched against future vacancies.  We do encourage you to regularly visit Repco Careers, and actively apply for roles that appeal to you.

Who has the ability to see my profile?

Our HR team can view all candidates’ profiles in our recruitment database.  Only those people who are directly involved in your recruitment process will have access to your application details – including HR and the Department Manager(s).  We are bound by federal privacy laws so your personal details will be handled with the utmost confidentiality.

How long will the recruitment process take before a decision is made?

The time the recruitment process takes can vary from one position to the next depending on a number of different considerations.  We aim to keep you as informed as possible at all stages of the process.

How can I prepare for my interview?

The questions you will be asked will be specific to the position you have applied for.  Be prepared for questions which ask you to explain your technical skills and background.  We also use behavioural interviewing questions where you will be asked to provide examples of how you have demonstrated competencies in your previous roles that relate to the position.  When answering these questions, you must talk about a specific situation, describe the task that you needed to complete, explain the action you took step by step and then tell us the result or outcome of that situation.

Is there a psychological and/or ability assessment involved during the recruitment process?

Maybe, depending on the position you are applying for.  Psychometric and/or ability assessments may be used within the recruitment process, and is used in conjunction with other selection tools relative to the position you have applied for.  These assessments could consist of a number of different elements including numerical and verbal reasoning.  You may also be requested to complete a personality profile which gives us an opportunity to better understand your work preferences.  You will be advised in advance which assessment you will need to complete.  This stage would take place after interviews have been conducted.

Will I be expected to provide referees or to undergo any background checks?

Yes, as part of the selection process candidates will be asked to provide at least two work-related referees who we can contact by phone.   It is preferable that these referees are or have been your direct manager/supervisor. References will only be conducted after you have given permission for your referees to be contacted.   If we require any additional background checks as part of your application we will obtain your consent prior to proceeding with any of the checks.

Do you accept résumés from employment agencies?

We will not accept resumes from an agency unless they have been engaged beforehand for a specific vacancy and they have an appropriate agreement with us.
